Avera Credentialing Transition Update

Provider or credentialing contacts that would complete a January 2026 reappointment application for privileging at a facility client of Avera CVS and/or participation with Avera Health Plans. As shared previously, we are in the process of transitioning from Compliance Watchdog to symplr CVO as our credentialing vendor.

 

While the full transition date for software will occur in early October, it is necessary to send January 2026 reappointments now so that the files can be primary source verified and taken through the committee and board approvals before the end of January 2026.

 

Because we are transitioning to a new credentialing vendor,

  • Reappointment applications will be sent via email rather than the electronic process you are accustomed to. You will receive this from sprovidercvo@symplr.com.
  • You will complete the fillable MN Uniform Reappointment credentialing application and will need to print the pages that require signatures (including authorization and release for med staff applications).
  • When the application and additional forms have been completed and signatures are complete, please scan and email the application and all documents to sprovidercvo@symplr.com.

Good afternoon,

 

Our records indicate that you are a provider or credentialing contact that would complete the application process for privileging at a facility client of Avera CVS and/or participation with Avera Health Plans.

 

We’ve listened closely to your feedback, and we are pleased to announce that our credentialing services will be transitioning to symplrCVO. symplr is well known in the credentialing space with 35 years of experience, 700 team members and are used by 9 out of 10 US hospitals and by over 400+ US health plans! This transition marks an exciting step forward for Avera and we are committed to making a change that will provide an exceptional experience for all involved.

 

While the full transition date will occur in early October, symplrCVO will begin processing some credentialing files that were previously submitted to Compliance Watchdog.  To ensure a quality experience for you, our team has pulled all the documents submitted to Compliance Watchdog for November and December reappointments as well as some recently submitted initial applications and sent these to symplrCVO to begin processing. During the processing and verification stages you can expect that symplrCVO, on our behalf, will reach out to you directly for questions or information needed to process the file.

 

You may begin receiving email communication from symplrCVO as early as this week and you can anticipate that coming from “CVO sProvider sprovidercvo@symplr.com”. Due to this work occurring prior to full system set up, the communication emails may state Avera Health and not yet include Avera Credentialing Verification Services or Avera Health Plans names in the communication. Please know the work is being done for both entities where appropriate.
